Welcome To Kelly's Home Page

My first pride and joy is my family. I am happily married to my high school girlfriend. We have been together 26 years (married for 22). We live in a small town in west central Minnesota. 3 active teenagers.

My passion is motorcycles! I have owned 17 different bikes. I currently ride the '99 Vulcan Nomad that you see here. Her name is Sobad. Yup - the Sobad Nomad. I purchased it in Salt Lake City Utah, and rode it the 1500 miles home. It came to me loaded, and I have added much to her since I bought her. I also own a Honda CM200 with 45 actual miles on it, and a Honda ST90 (trail).

The Phatkow came to me with the following accessories on her:

Windshield (Fire & Steel - Kawasaki brand)
Came with the short one which I replaced.
Tank bib (F & S)
Lever fringe
Seat (Mustang Wide Nostolgic seat)
Sissybar (F & S)
Luggage rack (F & S)
Crash bars front and rear (F & S)
Shitty pipes (DG Hardkrome Dual Staggered)

I have added:

Fork Lowers (F & S)
Fork bag (Ameritek)
DG Hardkrome Double D drags (love the sound and performance but they break and DG won't
replace them)! Don't buy DG Hardkrome pipes!
Sissybar bag (W & M)
Coyote kit - jetted the carb, remove all the restrictive California pollution control crap and added a K & N air filter directly to the carb! Yes!
Cable cover
Clock (Formotion)
Thermometer (Formotion)
Leather beverage holder (custom made at saddle shop)
Front fender tip
Passenger floorboards (Kellyboards)
Bell (H.D. anti-gremlin bell)

DG Hard Krome 3" Big Straights!
THE STORY ABOUT THE DG HARDKROME PIPES -
I had a set of DG Hard Krome Kickers on the my previous bike ('96 Vulcan Classic), and they broke! They actually cracked all the way around both pipes. After much discussion with DG, it was determined that they were in fact defective (duh) and they replaced them with my choice of any pipe in their line! I took the 3" Big Straights! These are not actually straight pipes, they do have a baffle in them, but they are plenty loud! Man, do they add a slab of chrome to the side of the bike or what?
Below is a picture of the Phatkow before I painted her.
Winter of '02 I was bored (I live in Minnesota), and I never really liked the dark green on white color of the Phatkow. I decided to paint the white to light green. I really like it and I think it makes the bike look richer. What ever THAT means!

Want inexpesive floorboards for Honda Shadows?
I used to ride Hondas, and only switched due to a great deal that I got on the Phatkow. When I owned a Shadow I came up with an inexpensive floorboard for them that sells for only 69.00. If you would like information just email me at the address below and ask. I'll gladly send the info.

Picture of the Phatkow at home in the front yard
Here the Phatkow bitch is dressed for 2-up riding. I prefer the solo look but my wife loves to ride too. I think it is time for her to learn how to ride her own.
